The 501st is no stranger to battle. Its lineage of rich airborne history as America's 1st Parachute Battalion, was born on November 15th, 1942, at Camp Toccoa, Georgia. Then baptised by fire for its decisive actions in World War II, during Operation Overlord, Operation Market Garden, Bastone in Battle of the Bulge, and the Invasion of Germany. 
For the 501st PIR,action didn't stop there, once again called to action to defend our great nation for GWOT in 2003 to 2018, valorously closing with the enemy by means of fire and maneuver on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan. And now standing in the door, as the primary strategic response force from the Arctic to the Pacific and everything god touches in between.
